Tropi Praver Swimwear 2014...Drumroll Please

The 2014 Swimwear is starting to arrive...yes!  The first styles to come in are from Tori Praver Swimwear 2014. Tori did a fabulous bandeau in her signature smocked fabric, with intricate weaving in the front and hips...very classy!  The top looks to be supportive, but without stays and boning, which frankly, can sometimes be uncomfortable.  The bottom is itsy bitsy with minimal coverage in back.  It's all done up in a rich fuchsia.

If you want a little more threads on your backside, check out Tori Praver's Boardwalk Bikini, done in a lavender tribal print and with moderate coverage in back.

Look for more 2014 swimsuits to arrive very soon!  We expect Boys+Arrows to be here any day!

Trippin' on Tavik

Tavik Swimwear is fairly new on the scene, but my, what a, "scene," they are making!  They have joined forces with Ani Breslin, owner and designer for Ani Bikinis, to create some unique swimsuits, full of character and pure originality.  The Tavik Swimwear 2013 line has already made some great press including Sports Illustrated and SURFING mags.  I'm sure that there's more to come as the season progresses and more fashion editors hear about Tavik Swimwear.

We have three, or four swimsuits from the 2013 Tavik Swimwear collection.  We still await the arrival of one style, but the rest are in stock and already selling.  So, for your review, may I present Miss Ani's and Tavik's latest:

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Creedance Bikini Front
Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Creedance Bikini Back

The Creedance Bikini (above) is done in a watercolory, tie-dye print.  It sports a cheeky bottom and a unique top that although supportive, does not have any underwires in it.  It's cute, it's different and I think it's totally hip and sexy.  the price is not bad at only $149.

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - ZZ-Jimi Bikini Front
Tavik Swimwear 2013 - ZZ-Jimi Bikini Back

The ZZ-Jimi Bikini (we got a rock and roll theme goin' on here) is done in that great swimsuit fabric that looks a little like crochet, without all of the problems that crochet can have.  The bandeau top has a U-shaped cut-out and the cheeky bikini bottom has long, flowing strings.  Great color, BTW.  It retails for $159.

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jimi-Crosby Bikini Front
Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jimi-Crosby Bikini Back
We've mentioned Jimi-Crosby bikini previously, but it's worth a second say.  Why?  It's cute!  It's tiny!  It's RED!!!  Oh...AND it's only $139.

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jefferson Bikini Front

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jefferson Bikini Side

This is our favorite Tavik bikini, but unfortunately it has not arrived yet...waaahhh!  We don't know why, but we wish the heck it would get here soon.  We've had so many customers inquire about it.  We're on the horn, trying to help this little high-waisted bikini find it's way home to us.  We'll keep you posted.

There are so many new swim labels out there this year, but we're sure that you'll agree that Tavik is the cream!

That Spring Thing...

There's no doubt about it...Spring has sprung.  Now, I know... many of you are already on Spring Break.  Hopefully, you were able to take advantage of our recent sales and picked up a fancy bikini from our store before you left for tropical nirvana.  For those of you who haven't, you really ought to check out our PROMOTIONS page for some real, money saving coupon codes.  All you do is cut and paste the code into your check out page and VOILA!  instant savings!

We've received some new arrivals over this last month:

TAVIK is awesome!!! I'm diggin' this deep red bikini, done in an unusual fabric...not really a crochet, but it kind of looks like it from a distance.  It's really more of a textured type of swimsuit fabric. The good thing about this material is that it's not going to sag and stretch like crochet does.

Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jimi-Crosby Bikini Front
Tavik Swimwear 2013 - Jimi-Crosby Bikini Back
The price is certainly right at only $139.  Don't forget to check that PROMOTIONS page for further discounts...hint, hint, hint.

Here's another new arrival from Boys + Arrows.  Now, this swimsuit came out last season, but in different colors and cut.  You'll also notice that the bottom has a bit more fuller coverage than other B+A bikinis, which a lot of ladies prefer.  It's done in a lemony yellow and has been selling briskly.

Indah Swimwear delivers this little nothing of a bikini.  Honestly, these pictures don't do it justice.  The fabric is very rich and luxe and the details are well executed.  This is a very sleek number!
Indah Swimwear 2013 - Pocket Button Bikini Back

There are only a couple more new styles due in before the end of the season.  I'll keep you posted on those.  Like I said before, be sure to check the PROMOTIONS page for discounts.  Have fun out there!

Sensational Solids...Somewhere Over the Bikini Rainbow

Prints have had their fun and as much as I love creating, designing and selling printed bikinis, the time has come for solid colors to take the scene.  There's the perennial black, (see my previous post below,) but there's also a miraid of new hues making it poolside this season.  The biggest color that we're seeing this summer is "Mint."  Boys + Arrows did one that borders on a bright; it's so cheerful.
Helen the Hussy Bandeau Bikini by Boys + Arrows Swimwear

Red is also a big deal this year.  Honestly, we really didn't order enough of it...we could have sold a lot more.  Marysia Swim did a little red number.
Acapulco Bikini by Marysia Swim

The neons have been eyecatching and extremely popular...B+A did several.
Debbie Danger Bikini by Boys + Arrows Swimwear

And, both Karla Colletto and ANK did a, "nude pink," that has been well received.
Ruching Skirted Bikini by Karla Colletto

Aliseos Bikini byANK Swimwear

Turquoise, aqua, azul, blue...all those water colors will never go out of style; nor will they ever look bad against any skin tone.  My favorite is this Lenny bikini.

Then, there's white...it always looks crisp, clean and fabulous.  These days, white is much more popular than in the past, because of the newer, "no see through," linings that are available to the industry today.   Marysia did my fave.
Marbella Bikini by Marysia Swim

I'd go on and on about bikini colors this morning, but this is the busy season, so I'll cut it short and sweet and leave you to ponder the rainbow.

Bitty Bottoms Are Turning Heads

Minimal bottoms are back!  OK, maybe they've never left, but we are now seeing a stronger demand for the itty bitty back side.  Is this a sign of better times?  (Kind of like hemlines?)  I don't know, but for those of you who love to show off the derriere, you'll want to shop some of the new swimwear brands, such as Salt, Tori Praver, SAHA and Boy + Arrows.  Of course, let's not forget the label that started it all...Salinas .

Some swimsuits are now in stock.  Others will be arriving soon, so please check back for updates.  Bottoms up!

L*Space Puts a Twist On Style This Season

L*Space Swimwear designer, Monica Wise, has come up with some twisted bikinis this season...so cute!  So SEXY!  Monica has quite a following of loyal customers who love the L*Space clean styling and unique details.  These bikinis are not, "toe-dippers," but swimsuits that women really want to wear and look great in. She's given a twist to the traditional bandeau bikini and even put a turn, or two into the bottom of the Aquarelli Bikini.

L*Space has also come up with another unique, twisted bikini top with their Twister Taboo Bikini.
Halter top has twist in center with thin straps &gold bead details.  Bikini bottom has double straps at the hips and offers moderate coverage in back.

One of my favorite bikinis that Monica did this season is a very classy bandeau bikini, the Posh Bandeau with metal accents. Bandeau top has contemporary medallion in center, soft cups, side stays and ties in back. Bikini bottom has matching medallions at hips and provides moderate coverage in back.  Very sleek!

I know that Monica has been working hard to bring us bikinis and cover-ups that work for the American girl.  All I can say is, GREAT JOB!  Good luck to all of the L*Space Swimwear crew this year!

When Black Friday Comes...Here's the Tropi-Ties Coupon Code For the Day

Maybe I'm showing my age, but honestly, every time I hear the term, "Black Friday," I think of Steely Dan's song and visualize men in their wall street best, floating past the window to meet their fate.  It's a grim vision.  Perhaps we should call this shopping day of all shopping days something else?  "Frantic Friday," "Fab Friday," "Freakin' Friday," or simply, "the day after Thanksgiving."  Anyway, I'll go with the flow and let you in on some divine, little, coupon codes that will help you make your shopping just a little easier this year.  All you have to do is plug them into your checkout page when prompted, and voila!  You will see some serious pocket change taken off of your bill.

Tropi-Ties Swimwear always has a few discount codes floating around.  Many of them are posted on our PROMOTIONS page, so be sure to check there first.  You'll also see a few, really, really great ones posted in our Twitter and Facebook posts.  Those are generally good for a limited time, but not always.  We've never posted any of them here before, so what the heck.  Here's a fantastic code that will save you 30% off of your order from Tropi-Ties Swimwear this weekend only, beginning on "Black Friday."
The code is:

GIMMEABREAK

Just insert this code at the proper place when checking out and you will get a 30% discount off of your merchandise purchased.  Does not apply to shipping or tax.  The offer expires on Sunday night.  It's good for anything in the store...new arrivals...items on sale...anything that is in stock at the time.  If it's out of stock, sorry, no can do.

We all hope that you have a very happy and safe holiday.  Sending out out our good vibes to all!

Melissa Odabash Swimwear 2011 - Another Year of Classics

Once again, Melissa Odabash delivers with a collection of sophisticated classics.  Nothing overly, "trendizoid," here, just great swimsuits and fabulous cover-ups that will go the distance, which is certainly good in this crazy economy.  You can rest assured that if you put out some serious change for a beautiful, designer swimsuit by Miss Odabash, you won't be passing it on to the thrift store next season, or even the next. The quality and the look of Melissa Odabash Swimwear has lasting power.

So, what's my favorite MO bikini this year?  I would have to say, the "Evita Bikini," a bandeau done in a precious turquoise blue.

My favorite Melissa cover-up?  Definitely the black fringed, "Sandy" poncho.  I love anything that looks Spanish, or Portuguese.

Melissa also did a few other perennials, such as her classic animal print, which has been fashioned into a sexy boy short bikini and her Indian inspired cover-up designs.

We just got the news that the 2011 Melissa Odabash Swimwear and Cover-Ups will be arriving from across the pond any day, so if you've been waiting for their arrival, please email us, or stop by our online store for updates.

The Junior-Teen Swimwear Line-Up for 2011

There's that age...that glorious age in a woman's life...somewhere between playing baseball with the neighborhood kids and tossing a baseball to your own child...those fabulous years when you could eat just about anything and not gain an ounce.   It's that time when all the older women hated you as you strutted down the beach in your brand new, teeny-tiny bikini with not a care in the world.

"Junior-Teen," isn't quite the right term for that age group, but for lack of a better word, we'll use it here, today.  A lot of swimwear these days just does not take into account that this girl is special.  The swimwear designers just do, "one style fits all age groups," designs in hope of catering to everyone of every age and perhaps saving a bit of money in production.  We appreciate those designers that take notice and really know how to show off a young woman's assets AND they know how to have some fun with swimwear fashion.  They also know that fit and sizing is just a little bit different than the Missy set...a little smaller over all, but they still need a bikini top with support and not everyone wants to show off ALL of their booty.  Junior-Teen designers have finally figured out that not every teen even wants a bikini.  It's been refreshing to see some super cute one piece swimsuits in the 2011 swimwear collections.

So, which are the top Jr.-Teen swimwear lines this year?  I'd place my money on Maaji Swimwear and I certainly wouldn't count out Salinas Swimwear for 2011.  And although, the Agua Bendita Swimwear fit is just a tad larger than Jr., I would have to include them too.  (See my posts below for examples and pix of these lines.)  All of these lines have fresh designs and new takes on the 1 piece swimsuit.  I'm hoping to uncover even more new Jr.-Teen lines.  Designers step up to the plate!  Perhaps just as soon as this economy straightens out, we will have more brave souls.

Tyler Rose Swimwear

Ok...this stuff is too cute!  Tyler Rose Swimwear has a ton of attitude and designer, Nicole Carroll, brings it on strong with her Haute Indian Summer Spring 2010 collection.  These are 3 bikinis from the TRS line-up for 2010.
